" The Sting of Truth"

" The sting in any rebuke is TRUTH."
- Benjamin Franklin

I can almost hear it now "Oh no, here is another rookie blogger along with the millions of others who thinks that he or she is going to enlighten us all with the profound wisdom of the ages. So great the intellect that if all the world could just read this we would all stagger with amazement at this newly discovered genius with utterances so profound, that we should make him the leader of the free world!." If this is what your thinking well, that's who I am, the voice of wisdom you've all been seeking! LOL! I'm hardly that at all, really I'm just here writing and calling it as I see it. I must warn you, though I'll never intentionally seek too offend anyone, it may happen. Thus, the reason for this blog "The Sting Of Truth".

You must understand it isn't my particular views or beliefs that might sting, but rather the TRUTH of it will. I have come to understand that there is a great and profound paradox to TRUTH. For example, TRUTH in a courtroom will liberate one man while simultaneously incarcerating the other. Yes, depending on which side of TRUTH your on will totally determine your response to it.

If your on the right side of TRUTH, you'll love it, but on the wrong side of it and you'll hate it. Appreciate it or appalled by it, enlightened because of it or exposed by it, embrace it or reject it, be sheltered in it or shatter by it, TRUTH will cause a reaction in us all, for better or for worse. There is no grey area in TRUTH, it is black or white. TRUTH is not moved by feelings, nor does TRUTH change because of opinion. TRUTH does not seek to be popular, it just is what it is and will not apologize for that. TRUTH will not change for acceptance, but rather you must change to accept TRUTH. The wonderful thing about TRUTH is that it is not racist, partial, or bigoted it is the same to each and to everyone of us. TRUTH is absolute even though this generation is taught that there are no absolutes, and what's true for one may not be true for others. We must realize that what is true for one is TRUTH for all!

So, from now on when you read my entrees, read them through this prism, that I seek for truth in any situation. I'm looking for the absolute in every event. I hope you'll find the TRUTH in all the issues I may choose to write about, because I am. Remember what Jesus says in John 8:32 " And ye shall know the TRUTH, and the TRUTH shall make you free"

Hurry Up, and Slow Down!!!

I must start out by saying that I do appreciate all of today's modern conveniences. Quick food, fast cars, planes, etc., etc., you get my drift. Technology has in many ways made our lives a lot easier, but the TRUTH is that at the rate of speed we must live to just keep up with it all it's really not worth it. TRUTHFULLY. Now, I love my air conditioned car, and home, my flushing toilet, electric lights and my lap top. So don't get the impression that I'm ready to go back to the hills and live like I was in the 19th century. This is my point: for all the good it seems to do... well, it's not so good. In today's society we do not live, oh no... we barely exist, surviving is more like it. We have more quantity in our lives but far too little quality of life. Most of us are so driven by the pressures of "keeping up", so narrow minded, that our tunnel vision has cost us, and caused to miss the most important things in life.... those closest to you! Now, before I go there, I want to make this very clear we live in the greatest country in the world,(if you don't feel that way...LEAVE)God has so richly blessed us! To prove my point, try this today or tomorrow, whether you driving BMW gliding down the road, or a Pinto popping and smoking down the highway, find a safe place to pull over and for just two minutes(that's just 120 seconds) get out of you car take a deep breath and clear your mind, then just look around. Not with cynicism, or finding the blemishes in your immediate surroundings, SLOW DOWN and just look around.
Breathe deep, and smell the air, feel the wind embrace your face, bend down and smell a wild flower if one is around. Then tilt your head back look up to the sky and remember life is a gift, a short span of time in which we are allowed to exist. SLOW DOWN! Stop rushing, your bills will still be waiting when your done(although the may now have a little less importance), your job won't disappear, and if you lose money in those two minutes you'll make it back. I have a saying(you can borrow it) "I'd rather have my money wasted, rather than my time, because money can be regained, but my time can never be payed back!" SLOW DOWN! Take some time to enjoy life even if it's only a few minutes a day. You'll be surprised how small problems are in the back drop of a blue sky.
Don't wast your time on things that will eventually have no lasting value. Another saying of mine is "to waste time is to bruise eternity", smell the roses, smile more than you frown, laugh more than you cry, and try and find something positive in everyone, and every situation! In your "fast lane" life, you'll miss those very few precious years of your children growing up. SLOW DOWN, listen to their stories that may have no point, hug them every chance you get, just stop and listen to them laugh(it can really put things back into perspective), because if we can't laugh every day, how miserable will we be? SLOW DOWN, take time to hold the one you love and without a camera make a moment every day. For all those you love, SLOW DOWN and compliment more than criticize. Try this, every day look at your spouse, or child(your closest loved ones) and find a NEW quality about them that is wonderful, and then share it with them(write it down also) everyday. Look at them and then listen to them breathe, hear what they say. Make a memory of their touch, laugh, aroma, or eyes, and the next time life gets too hard... get out of that car or walk away from the stress for just a few moments and relive those memories. Then go home and make new ones. SLOW DOWN!!! You are more blessed than you realize. Make it your life's goal that right before the time comes to meet our maker, you will have no regrets. SLOW DOWN, do the speed limit(in the far right hand lane,LOL) and look around at this beautiful world, God gave it to us... so enjoy!
Remember, YOU run your life, and don't let LIFE run you! SLOW DOWN! If God has been able to sustain this entire earth for millions of years, guess what.... He will take care of us all! Just SLOW DOWN and let life unfold in it's ordained time, because you can't change what has already happened(trust me I've tried), and can only follow the plans He has for you. God walked with Adam, why because God enjoyed His time with Adam, and there was no rush.... (I hope I'm making sense) what I'm trying to say is don't go too fast and get ahead of God just SLOW DOWN and walk with him!
